Members of the South Central Jurisdiction of the United Methodist Church,

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, on behalf of the September 2013 Colorado Floods survivors and the UMCOR/Rocky Mountain Conference Flood Recovery Team Staff, I would like to thank you for your continued prayers and support for this disaster recovery work.  We are especially appreciative of the outpouring of support we have had from volunteer groups from the South Central Jurisdiction.  Youth and adult mission teams from New Mexico and Texas have come out to Colorado and spent many hours clearing debris and rebuilding homes and lives left damaged by the flood.  Your cheerful dedication, earnest commitment, hard work and compassion are given in the true spirit of Christian service.  Our heartfelt thanks go out to the young adults from the Wesleyan Foundation of University of New Mexico who braved the March cold weather to spend their spring break volunteering; the Youth Group from FUMC, Plano, TX; the family mission team from River Oaks UMC, River Oaks, TX; and most recently the Youth and Young Adults from FUMC Garland, TX. Your efforts not only repaired the physical damage left by the flood; it helped heal the spiritual and emotional damage as well.  Blessings to all those who serve in His name.
